This lecture provides a comprehensive review of the current status of knowledge of mechanisms of high temperature creep in metals and alloys. The time dependence of creep strain, mechanical equation of state, dislocation motion in creep and dependence of creep rate on temperature, stress and some structure parameters are also given.
